Past Incidents

WhatsApp has now identified the suitable version for us to use and we are in the progress of switching WhatsApp server versions in multiple phases for those who are affected. Please contact us at hello@wati.io if you would need priority assistance on this particular issue.

We have identified an issue where WATI users sees an error "Resource not found. Could not retrieve phone number from contact store" when sending messages.
This error may happen for conversations that were originally initiated by the end-customer more than 7 days ago, ie end-customer sent the first message to the business number. WhatsApp has acknowledged to us the error comes from a specific version of the WhatsApp server being used and we are currently working with WhatsApp to identify the best version to use to avoid this error.

Incident

We have upgraded our WhatsAppp API gateway from v2.37.1 (expiring 29 March) to v2.39.3 on Saturday, few hours after the upgrade, few clients complaining cannot receive/send messages probably

Root cause

We found out that it's mostly due to a bug introduced in the new version v2.39.3 which just released 25 March.

Resolution

We have downgraded the API clients to v.2.39.2 yesterday afternoon and cannot find any issues after that from our server logs (but v2.39.2 has some bugs too according to the change log)
